The eclectic crowd wore gowns, tuxes, jeans and splashes of leather to groove the night away to local dance band Main Street, all in the name of altruism. Bull Street Chophouse Grand Opening 44 Bull Street (above Il Pasticcio)
The red carpet was rolled out on June 16 for the highly anticipated grand opening of Bull Street Chophouse at Bull and Broughton Streets. The American chophouse, which features prime steak, lobster, chops and bone-in meats, is the ambition of sister restaurant Il Pasticcio's owner Pino Venetico, who was in attendance to orchestrate the ribbon cutting at the start of the evening. Along with such culinary delights as a raw oyster bar, shrimp and grits and other appetizers, guests were met with champagne served from the restaurant's sleek bar. The event hosted many community leaders (including Mayor Otis Johnson and Chatham County Commission Chairman Pete Liakakis), who nibbled the night away in what is sure to emerge as one of Savannah's premier fine-dining establishments. view photos> |

Saya Lounge Grand Opening 109 West Broughton Street
Saya Lounge, Broughton Street's newest kid on the block, recently threw a grand opening to announce its arrival as one of Savannah's chicest martini bars. Guests were treated to champagne, light appetizers and a DJ's smooth musical styling, but most partygoers agreed that the best part of the evening was the opportunity to revel in the basement bar's elegant-but-funky, Asian-inspired ambiance. The evening was a swanky success, with attendees lingering to recline and sip spirits in the venue's stylishly comfortable couch seating.
